My involvement with twitter expands beyond this class.  I have been involved with twitter since I was in 9th grade.  Twitter has truly shown me how fast information can travel and how far our world has come in delivering news. During this class I have begun to use twitter in a more professional way. Using twitter in a professional way to explore the world of education has taught me how to incorporate technology in the lives of my students to set them up for success.

The digital divide affects students because students use different forms of media then the older population uses. As technology constantly advances teachers must learn and use new technology to properly prepare students for the workforce. When teachers do not use and learn new technology they short change their students.  Through the use of technology students can better relate and absorb the material easier.  Through programs such as success maker and blackboard students benefit and so do teachers.

When evaluating a website I consider the relevance or the year last edited.  I also look to make sure sources are cited properly.  Another important factor in evaluating websites is finding out who funded the website and deciding if this creates a bias.  Looking up the organization that funds the website is simple and can explain why they wrote what they did.  Overall if you review a website before you use it as a source it can make your papers more factual and accurate.

  1. Great post! Technology is definitely important for workplace preparation, since some students may not choose the college route.
